Lawmaker Profile

Rep. Billy Long

[R, MO-7]
Congressman Long has always believed we need more lawmakers with real world experience in Washington, DC. People who have signed the front of a check and run their own business. A real estate broker and auctioneer by trade, Congressman Long owned his own real estate and auction companies in Springfield, Missouri, for over 30 years. For six years, he also co-hosted 'Morning Line with Bonnie & Billy,' a morning drive time talk radio show on AM560 KWTO, Keep Watching The Ozarks,' that covered 95 counties in parts of four states. With this much exposure, his name ID was very high when he first ran for office. Taking listeners calls for six years gave him lots of valuable information on what folks in Missouri's 7th Congressional District were thinking before he ran for office.

While the awards pile up from organizations such as the American Conservative Union, FreedomWorks, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, Safari Club International and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the true reward is being in a position to help people.

Voted 'Best Auctioneer in the Ozarks' 9 years running, it's no surprise Congressman Long has been inducted into both the National Auctioneers' Association Hall of Fame and the Missouri Professional Auctioneers' Association Hall of Fame.
