I support Doubling Alzheimer’s Research Funding by 2015...

My father has Alzheimer's. He is a 29 year veteran of the US Air Force who fought in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He is a true American hero who insisted on flying P51's over Germany during WWII when he could have kept his flight instructor position at Andrews Air Force Base. He flew C130's over the DMZ during the Vietnam War. He commanded several air bases including Condon AFB in Oregon and Saglak AFB in Labrador. His Alzheimer's is severe and he has forgotten most of his remarkable life. It shouldn't have to end like that for him and other hardworking American citizens. Alzheimer's isn't going away anytime soon, and we need to make it a national priority. Thank you for your consideration.

I support H.R. 499 "To decriminalize marijuana at the Federal level, to leave to the States a power to"

because contrary to what society believes about marijuana the drug poses little to no threat to an individual or community. Ideas like it causes cancer, leads to memory issues, or even causes crime have been proven to be incorrect through multiple studies. But the best test of all is time, within the last 4700 years of marijuana use there isn't a single recorded event of any of these misconceptions actually occurring.

I support The Weatherization Enhancement and Local Energy Efficiency Investment and Accountability Act because...

I have seen first hand how this funding can improve neighborhoods and revitalize communities in our great nation. By improving homes and upgrading to green features, a home owner can see a great reduction in the money they spend on utilities, especially here in Florida where it tends to be very hot. Their savings will be spent in the communities they live in and that will help stimulate local businesses.

I oppose S. 336: Marketplace Fairness Act of 2013 because...

Of my concerns that it increases the power of states over businesses outside of their borders. Specifically, the proposal would overturn a Supreme Court decision setting limits on a state’s ability to require out-of-state retailers to collect sales taxes for them, turning every out-of-state retailer into a sales tax collector for nearly 10,000 separate state, local and municipal tax jurisdictions. This would be a dangerous extension of state power into other states, be a costly burden on retailers, and would allow states to impose taxes in a way that favors their local businesses over out-of-state firms, who have no representation in the taxing state. Besides, in this bad economy we don't need more taxes, we need less.

I oppose S. 2363: Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2014 because...

It threatens the conservation of fish, wildlife, and habits that benefit all Americans. It is a very dangerous hunter/trapper/hounder power grab that takes over our federal public lands for trapping and killing our wildlife, shooting galleries, roads and ATV’s and traffic where wilderness and wildlife had been protected for all of us. This legislation would open millions of acres of public lands — including sensitive Wilderness Areas — to hunting and fur trapping, at the expense of other land users and endangered and threatened species. It would prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from even considering the issue of toxic lead ammunition which poisons wildlife and the environment. And it would permit the latest in a series of import allowances for sport-hunted polar bear trophies from Canada, encouraging trophy hunters to escalate the killing of threatened species around the globe. Please oppose this bill and help protect our wildlife.

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because...

A weapons ban in america will not penalize the criminals and the mentally ill. I will instead penalize every single law biding, responsible gun owner in America. It will in fact infringe on our rights under the second amendment of the U.S. Constitution which the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled applies to U.S. citizens and potentially endanger innocent communities that criminals and evil individuals will absolutely target when they know they have been disarmed and left vulnerable to attack. We currently have gun control in the United States, we need to enforce the laws already enacted and provide assistance to the mentally ill in this country. Gun control is not the problem in this country, those bend on committing acts of evil against the innocent and defenseless and have no fear of consequences, or the ability to comprehend those consequences is. In closing I emplor you NOT to vote to infringe on the rights of WE the American people.
