S. 2075: CUT Loopholes Act

We support S. 2075: CUT Loopholes Act because...

Loopholes in our laws, rules, regulations, public policies and even politics, indeed that is why many attorneys are in such demand and highly paid to find them for personal gain, exploitation, leverage and including nothing short of circumventing the very purpose for which they were designed. Do we close those loopholes and think we are safe, sound and secure or realize that given what we already know; greed feeds the need to find new ways of beating the system? My guess is that crime, corruption and civil unrest will continue if we choose to ignore or justify the loopholes for the sake of those capitalizing on unjust rewards.

More than 80 percent of the 2,515 suspected incidents of human trafficking investigated by law enforcement agencies between January 2008 and June 2010 involved adult prostitution or the exploitation and forced prostitution of children, a Justice Department report released Thursday says.

The report, written by the department’s Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), says 48 percent of the investigated incidents involved adults, while 40 percent uncovered the exploitation or forced prostitution of children. The remainder, about 350 cases, involved allegations of labor trafficking, in which people were being forced against their will into performing labor — including forced begging and roadside sales, along with work at hair salons, hotels and bars.

Any commercial sex act performed by a person under age 18 is considered human trafficking, regardless of whether force, fraud or coercion is involved, the report said.

Earlier this year, Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., announced the formation of a presidential task force on human trafficking involving a new collaboration by the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security and Labor. Calling human trafficking a “modern-day slavery,” he said it was “an affront to human dignity,” adding that men, women and children were being exploited for sex and labor in “virtually every corner of our nation.”

S. 596: Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Deterrence and Victims Support Act of 2011

Please support this bill and help US save our children, lets end/stop human trafficking – modern day slavery in America and around the world.

March 16, 2007, Stephanie Brown, Richard’s 17-year old granddaughter, died of a fatal drug-overdose after being hired at a local strip-club where two patrons (a volunteer basketball coach and an ordained minister) including a dancer at the club told Stephanie she could make $3,000.00 (Three-Thousand) dollars to help them make a girl-on-girl porn video at a motel down the street.

The State of Michigan and Richard’s family successfully prosecuted the drug-dealer and later settled out-of-court with the strip-club for employing an underage person for sex-work; however, Richard continues to pursue other legal issues and criminal investigations regarding the case at local, state and federal levels including international law.

Richard is the President/CEO and Board of Directors Chairman, for two non-profit organizations “Stephanie’s Place” a faith-based group and “AhEeCOSH” the “Adult Entertainment Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health” group. Richard continues to work with the victims, their families and other organizations including local, state and federal government levels to enact new ordinances, regulations or standards and laws to help protect our nations workers health and safety, equal protection and due process rights within the United States and aboard from the ongoing criminal enterprises of human – modern day slavery and drug trafficking.

We must STOP the Modern-Day Slavery and Human Sex Trafficking like: Stephanie Brown, our 17 year-old sister, daughter and granddaughter, that died March 16, 2007, as a result of being hired by a local strip-club in Lincoln Park, MI and given drugs by a patron for entertainment that caused her death.
