A BILL

To designate a Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside, California.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ``Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act''.

SEC. 2. DESIGNATION OF DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS NATIONAL MEMORIAL IN RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA.

(a) Findings.--Congress finds the following: (1) The most reliable statistics regarding the number of members of the Armed Forces who have been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross indicate that 126,318 members of the Armed Forces received the medal during World War II, approximately 21,000 members received the medal during the Korean conflict, and 21,647 members received the medal during the Vietnam War. Since the end of the Vietnam War, more than 203 Armed Forces members have received the medal in times of conflict. (2) The National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, Missouri, burned down in 1973, and thus many more recipients of the Distinguished Flying Cross may be undocumented. Currently, the Department of Defense continues to locate and identify members of the Armed Forces who have received the medal and are undocumented. (3) The United States currently lacks a national memorial dedicated to the bravery and sacrifice of those members of the Armed Forces who have distinguished themselves by heroic deeds performed in aerial flight. (4) An appropriate memorial to current and former members of the Armed Forces is under construction at March...

I support H.R. 330: Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act because...I am a recipient of the DFC for a night medical evacuation of wounded Marines on the night of May 17, 1970 during operations in Vietnam.

I support H.R. 330: Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act because the recognition of those who earned the DFC needs to be honored with this memorial. The sacrifice and service of them is only surpassed by Medal of Honor recipients. I served as Marine infantry in Vietnam and know the value of air support and the danger many ignored as they helped us, and continue today.

I support H.R. 330: Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act because...I feel that it is only appropriate to Honor our Men and Women in Uniform. I would also like to request that ALL Veterans Memorials be insulated from Political "Temper Tantrums" like we saw during the Government Shutdown.

I oppose H.R. 330: Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act because there are too many important issues which Congress needs to address for Republicans to waste time with this kind of nonsense. The Republicans accuse the Democrats of wasting money and have eviscerated the SNAP program from the Farm Bill. Do they not understand that memorials cost money or do they think if they piddle away the money we do have that we won't notice? Please vote no on this issue. Thanks.

I oppose H.R. 330: Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial Act because it sounds like a totally unnecessary expenditure with little benefit. The Distinguished Flying Cross is a sufficient honor in itself. Perhaps a small display at the National Aeronautical Museum would be appropriate

I oppose H.R. 330 ("To designate a Distinguished Flying Cross National Memorial at the March Field Air Museum in") because Rep. Calvert should go home and take a nap. Is this the best you can do as a member of the House of Reprehensibles? How do you propose to pay for this waste. If you are not working day and night to repeal Obamacare, STOP spending & taxing, and get serious about aggressively reducing the deficit - you are stealing your congressional salary. Calvert is a typical illustration of a RINO who is just as corrupt and stupid as his fellow democrat crook buddies.
