I support H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because I struggled to raise my five children, remain married, maintain a successful OB-GYN practice in a financially hostile state for physicians, keep up my knowledge and skills in active practice, and simultaneously remain compliant with the monstrosity of our ridiculously complicated tax code. I was very successful as a physician and father but didn't have an MBA to provide me with the adequate knowledge and skills to properly manage my income tax liabilities and business. For this latter deficiency, my family and I suffered unnecessarily. Now is the time to abolish the IRS, repeal the 16th amendment, and replace our current punitive income tax system with the Fair Tax, a national consumption tax. Pass H.J. Res. 16 and The Fair Tax, HR-25 and S-122. Thank you!

I support H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because...taxation in this country has become exceedingly unfair. Loopholes and strategies have given corporations and people of wealthy means too much leeway in avoiding taxes, low income citizens are paying nothing or next to nothing and all the rest are being soaked and forced to bear the burden. The only fair tax is one that every single citizen and business has to pay with no exceptions and no loopholes. A flat amount regardless of how much is made. I fully support the FairTax.

I support H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") for the simple fact that penalizing earning (by taxing it) makes no sense if we're a capitalist nation and our goal is a strong economy. Removing income and other earnings-based taxes encourages people to save and earn more, going a long way toward solving the debt problem in which a large percentage of Americans (and the government!) find themselves.

I support H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because the IRS and the current US income tax code have become unwieldy and oppressive.

I support H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because we need to end the corruption in the federal government, and this is a good place to start. As has been revealed in the last year, the IRS has been used as a weapon against dissenting opinions. Most of the lobbyists in DC are trying to create loopholes in the tax code for their interests, end the income tax and you end this practice. Simplify tax collection, adopt the Fair Tax.

I support H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because we should abolish the IRS, repeal the income tax, and enact H.R. 25 / S. 122 to replace the IRS and the income tax with a national retail flat luxury tax administered primarily by the States. I would also add to the proposed amendment repealing the 16th article of amendment a section that would forever prohibit Congress from imposing another income tax in any manner, shape or form.

I oppose H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because...Repealing this amendment would leave the door open to "another" entity to impose any tax and not be held accountable for said tax.

I oppose H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because, Repealing the 16th amendment is a noble idea but it will waste a lot of time repealing the amendment only to replace the revenue with something else.

I oppose H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because I oppose a national sales tax. It would seriously hurt the middle class by shifting more of the tax burden onto us. It would also cause serious economic distortions and hurt our economy.

I oppose H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because...we don't need to dismantle the IRS. Nor do we need to eliminate the income tax system. But we most assuredly need to cut spending, return sanity to the amount of power that the IRS wields, and simplify the tax code. Eliminate loopholes and exemptions, and impose a flat tax that will balance the budget with a 40% reduction in government spending.

I oppose H.J.Res. 16 ("Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the sixteenth article") because a federal income tax is a sound way to fund our country.
