Obamacare is a massive Federal government overreach which threatens the sovereignty of States and of individual citizens by forcing citizens and States to buy a product. SCOTUS ruled it unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause and the Necessary and Proper clause, but also ruled it constitutional as a tax. Health care is best managed by States and individual choice.

This bill would repeal President Obama’s government takeover of healthcare in its entirety. Due to the exorbitant costs, mandates, taxes and infringements on freedom, Obamacare has become toxic for the country and the American people. Two years ago, Congress crafted this legislation behind closed doors, the details kept secret from the American people. Since then, Americans have seen their premiums rise by 1% to 3% (about $1,200) each year since the law was passed. Not only have premiums gone up, but the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reevaluated the cost of the bill and found that their initial estimate of $940 billion was woefully inaccurate, and that the true cost of the bill was at least $1.76 trillion (other estimates put that number even higher). To pay for this tremendous cost, Obamacare imposes at least 21 new or higher taxes on the American people, and 75% of the costs would fall on those making less than $120,000 a year. From taxes on tanning beds to medical devices to taxes on the people themselves for not purchasing government-approved health insurance, the effect this bill has had, and will continue to have, is devastating to our economy. Additionally, the law: -Puts tens of millions of American at risk of losing their employer-sponsored health insurance; -Creates a 15-member, unelected and unaccountable Independent Payment Advisory Board tasked with saving money, but their recommendations will lead to healthcare rationing, and; -Funds plans that cover abortion, and forces those with religious, moral or ethical beliefs to pay an abortion premium. Congress should repeal this law in its entirety to stop the spending, taxes, mandates and regulations from further crippling our economy. Heritage Action supports full repeal and will include it as a key vote on our scorecard.

The voters have a right to pool their money via the tax to create a safety net. They further have the right to create a cabinet level position of the "safety net" for its establishment, maintenance, surveillance, and enforcement. TaxTheRichDotName has sponsored a resolution, a bill, and a constitutional amendment to tax the wealthy that includes the establishment of just such a cabinet level committee: See below. Mission: TaxTheRichDotName is a grass roots tax watch organization which seeks to inform voters of taxation issues in hopes of bringing about tax law reform and a correction to the current distribution of wealth. The excesses of the distribution of wealth in this country have penetrated into our government so deeply that nothing short of piracy will cut through the mess and find a fair and equitable distribution of wealth. The system is no longer fair, but we can use the system, the vote, to both redistribute the wealth and return the system to a fair one. The tax system is not solely about what is a fair tax: it is about the distribution of wealth which currently favors the rich to levels not seen since Peronist Argentina or King George of the revolutionary era. The voters can change this without seeking the permission or the support of the creeping aristocracy. The voters first and their elected officials second are the true authorities in the U.S., and they can and will take this decision out of the hands of the privileged, the MBAs, the lawyers, and even the elected officials via the vote. The only obstacle to putting the voters back in control is the politician's unwillingness to put the necessary tax the rich bills before congress. To help put these bills before congress and to get a tax the rich plank on the 2012 ballot, all we need is a presence. The politicians would prefer to fear the voters, their constituents, yet they must deal with political realities as well, realities such as the "creeping aristocracy" and the lobbyists. To give them a leg up, we need to demonstrate our presence and our resolve. With a unified tax the rich voice, presence, and effort, we can let them know that we are on their side and willing to stop the gridlock and the creeping aristocracy. Most of the effort to repeal The Affordable Care Act is driven by ignorance and hysteria. Prior to it's passing many of the issues it addresses, such as pre-existing conditions, were of grave concerns to most Americans. When polled, most Americans support the individual provisions contained within ACA, it is only when Obamacare, or Obama, is mentioned that opposition arises. This is an irrational state of mind driven the ignorance and misinformation. Private health insurance limits peoples choices to the procedures, care and medicines they approve and limit you to doctors and health care providers in their network. Health care coverage currently is only available in any real fashion to those who are employed and even then it is limited to what the plans the employer wishes to offer. It is private insurance that limits choice in health care, it is private insurance that has "Death Panels" of doctors who approve/disapprove potentially life saving but sometimes risky medical options without providing any reasoning or explanation. These denials have the potential to be life-threatening. ACA will help address these errors in private health care insurance.
