The 2nd Amendment States: "Shall Not Infringe Upon". To continually hear the alluding to hunting is sickening. As though We The People are idiots. It is condescending, and our resolve at the voting booths will be unprecedented. We are certain our Senators from Georgia are against this monstrous act. Other members of Congress may find it prudent to follow their lead. Other members of Congress need to remember that numbers equal votes, and we are watching very closely. It is time those we elect serve WE THE PEOPLE. Some Examples will be made at the next elections I am certain.

I support Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because it makes sense. Some people in this country can no longer make good decisions on their own, unfortunately, and do not consider the public good over their own profit or selfish fanaticism. It is unfortunate to have to legislate this, but necessary nonetheless.

I support Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because assault rifles have no place in our society. They are made for war; not hunting. I don't want to EVER hear again about 20 children being gunned down in the US. Do the right thing and pass this bill.

I support Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because no one needs these weapons to hunt or protect their families. This is the sort of common sense legislation Illinois and America need to stem the epidemic of massacres America now faces.

I support Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because my father was murdered by someone using an unregistered, unlicensed handgun in 1995. If background checks were required to purchase a gun back then, he would still be alive today.

I support Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because...how many more people need to die before these guns are banned? 6? 12? 26? They are not for personal self-defense. They are for thrill, power, and fear.

I support Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because...it is time to address this issue! The only reason I have heard that people need these (versus some other firearm) is to arm themselves in case they need to fight a tyrannical government. The federal government is to be balanced by the states, not anarchists. I believe that the bill in its current state is a bit too ambitious. I don't think some of the weapons listed need to be banned. I think a better focus would be too limit magazine size and thusly make the so-called "semi-assault" weapon like other guns.

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because it is critical that the citizens of the United States be able to defend themselves from all enemies, foreign and domestic. President George Washington: "A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because... The right to keep and bear arms is a natural right, this right predates the Constitution, the Articles of Confederation and the Declaration of Independence. The 2nd Amendment does not grant Americans the right to keep and bear arms; rather it prohibits the federal government from infringing on this right. It was the best hopes of the framers of this nation that the citizenry would be armed, as this is the best and most effective way to ensure the public security. The 2nd Amendment is not about “sport shooting” and “hunting”. The right to keep and bear arms is about the citizen’s natural right to self defense, and the best safeguard against a tyrannical government being a citizenry that is armed and able to defend itself. In 2011 less than 1/2 of a percent of deaths in the USA were caused by firearms. Should we outlaw swimming pools, dogs and bees and lighting all of which cause more deaths per year? Congress shall make no law that infringes on our right to bear arms. I strongly urge you to vote no on this attack on our constitution and uphold your sworn oath.

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because... Fienstein should be tried for treason, at the very least taken out of office for not upholding her oath. I know how y'all feel about this. At least I think I do. Trust is getting stretched pretty thin these days. You can put makeup on a hog, but it's still a hog.

I oppose Sen. Feinstein's New Version of the Federal Assault Weapons Ban because this is another knee jerk reaction from a liberal that wants to take away our rights because they will not police the criminals that do these crimes.
