On behalf of the Association of the United States Navy (AUSN), we applaud and support your bill S. 2244, the Veterans Missing in America Act.

Throughout the country, funeral homes and other entities have an unknown number of veterans’ ashes going unclaimed or abandoned due to no next of kin or no other available resources to pass along the remains. Furthermore, many of these veterans happen to have been homeless, another prevalent issue amongst veterans, with no one to claim their remains.
